Counting the Invisible: Using data to transform the lives of girls and women by 2030
Plan International, 2016
The State of the World’s Girls is Plan International’s flagship research series, examining the challenges facing girls worldwide. The 2016 edition focused on the critical gaps in gender data that leave millions of girls unseen by governments and policymakers.
As lead editor, I oversaw the development of the report, coordinating contributions from multiple internal teams and external partners to produce a clear, cohesive publication addressing complex issues around gender data and global development. My role included shaping the narrative of the report, managing the editorial and distribution process, and ensuring consistency and clarity across the final publication.
In addition to leading the editorial process, I supported the report’s launch through media relations, serving as a spokesperson and helping communicate the report’s findings to journalists and wider audiences. (My studio interview in the following news report begins at 5:57)
