Stand Up for Children’s Rights: A Teacher’s Guide for Exploration and Action with 11–16 Year Olds
UNICEF, Child Rights Advocacy and Education (2009)
In 2009, UNICEF’s Child Rights Advocacy and Education Section engaged me to copy edit a curriculum resource designed for teachers working with students aged 11–16. The project required familiarity with UNICEF editorial standards as well as the ability to ensure that complex human rights concepts were communicated clearly and effectively for classroom use.
During the review process, I identified not only typographical and stylistic issues but also areas where the logic and narrative flow could be improved. I worked closely with the draft text to strengthen clarity, consistency, and readability while maintaining alignment with UNICEF’s voice and brand guidelines.
The final result was a polished and accessible educational resource that supports teachers in introducing students to the principles of children’s rights and encouraging thoughtful classroom discussion and action.
